I got the brass color without the hair cutter. I didn’t know the latter option existed when I ordered. My experience has been good. I previously had ordered several of the toe tap kind, which were horrible. They leaked and broke, and I needed a change so I bought this Lift and Turn. I think it’s great. It was easy to install, it seals well, it’s problem free…except for one thing. I cant figure out how to remove the plug so I can get the hair ball out, so it clogs up. The only way I can get to the hair is by using a Drain Weasel, which is like a mini rotorooter, to remove it. If there is a way to get it out without breaking it, please someone let me know! Otherwise, after two months of use, daily, I can recommend this!

This item had to be replaced twice. The connection screw kept loosening and then would fall down the drain. The company sent me replacemet screws and told me to use super glue to keep it from falling out. Now 6 months later..the screw is advanced into the unit..and when I tried to remove it, using a screw driver, it split in half. The customer service was very good, but the product has many design flaws. This is too bad as the color is gorgeous, and colored tops are not easy to find.

When I tightened in the screw, the entire unit popped apart. I put it back together, but it would still come apart easily. There are two internal screws. The bigger one seemed to be of good quality and should last. The smaller one was so thin that I don’t have much confidence in it. All ended well because I was able to use the gasket and large screw from this unit to rebuild my original stopper.

Not sure if the hair cutting works since you can’t actually see it but as a regular bath tub stopper it was lousy. In the shower it would drain slowly so you end up standing in a pool of water. For a bathtub it did not hold water, also draining slowly so no relaxation time there. I’m using my old stopper again.

I used this to replace the drain stopper on my newly installed tub and it works perfectly. The stopper in the drain that I bought fills about 90% of the actual hole so it would take an extremely long time to drain. This opened it up and and I am extremely satisfied.

This was a great solution. It came with two different size fittings screwed in easy and keeps the water in the tub.

Except for the incorrect information as to the items installation, it is exactly what I needed.

To my disappointment, the screw fell out & is now somewhere down the drain.

This did not work as it was supposed to. It wouldn’t completely close to plug water for a bath and wouldn’t drain while using the shower unless there was absolutely no hair in it. I tried to “chop” the hair but it didn’t work. The only way the water would drain was if I unscrewed it and pulled out the hair. Very disappointed in the product.

This product was recommended in a magazine I read as a good buy. This is so generic. Everything is poorly made plastic, except for the screw in the middle. When you push down to grind the hair, it is more likely than not to fall apart.

Not what I expected. a great idea but the flow was reduced too much during the shower so you are standing in water that was slow to drain. And the silver part on top is light plastic not the heavier metal I expected

This finish is extremely hard to find, and I am thrilled with the quality and ease of install, especially since it was my first time and I wasn’t exactly sure how to do it or if it would work with our tub setup.

This does not work, it actually made things worse as all of the hair clumped around it and had to be removed in order for the water to drain and to have the hair pulled/removed from it. what a scam!Dont waste your money

I originally ordered a white drain stopper for my bathtub and didn’t like the looks. This matches my American Standard brushed nickel hardware just fine and fits perfectly. No complaints!

This product kept hair from entering the drain by collecting it and preventing the bathtub from emptying. The installation was easy enough, but the product did not work as advertised and was a total waste of money.

Tried it for a week. Water backed up. Didn’t chop up hair. Came apart a few times. Inventor should keep working on a better product because the idea is great.

This is a fabulous idea but it just doesn’t work…Perhaps with metal parts instead of plastic it might work better…Just, for me, did not do what it said it would and in fact the water would not drain at all at times…Now we have an old fashioned rubber cover with suction cups covering the drain and it is just fine…Again, I commend the inventor on his idea, just this version of that idea is not stellar…

It drains well and also stops the water from draining out! I was having problems with a bath tub that would drain while I was in the tub> not fun or relaxing! This fixed it and took care of the hair issues as well!

I wanted something that would strain, open, and close without having to constantly swap the strainer and cover back and forth. I also have hair that gets stuck in everything. I went to the store and bought the DrainEASY because it looked like something that could everything that I wanted. But it turns out that my tub has an old, large, mutant drain which won’t accept any available replacement stoppers other than the most basic cover. I will need a plumber to install something normal so that I will have more stopper choices. But I didn’t know all that last week. I just thought I needed an adapter or something, so I called the manufacturer for help. They were extremely helpful! They sent me an adapter disc and some other parts to help me get this thing to work. (Some of the bigger companies won’t talk to you at all, much less send you an adapter kit on the very same day!) I was also impressed with the detailed instructions and photos on their website. With the manufacturer’s help, I was able to find out exactly what kind of drain I had, so that I can have a better chance of finding something that will work (or, rather, avoiding more things that won’t work). So… no, I didn’t get to actually use the thing. I did fiddle with it. It is a bit flimsy, being mostly plastic, so I’d say that frequent opening and closing might put too much stress on it unless you have a really snug fit. I’m also not confident that it would chop my hair; some hairs probably chop easier than others, and mine’s pretty tough. And because the strainer is so fine, I can imagine it getting clogged with little hairs from shaving that are too big to fit through, yet too small to get chopped.BUT that is all conjecture on my part.Just the same, I wanted to try it. I do think it is a great idea. It just needs to be made sturdier, and I need to get a new drain. At any rate, I will be looking at other (non-bath-drain) products from this company just because I know I can count on them to provide support if I need it!

OK, it doesn’t cut hair. So, you have to uninstall it out to clean the hair, which doesn’t make any sense. But I was only looking for a hair catcher that can be screwed securely into the bathtub drain, so kids cannot secretly put caught hair into the drain, instead of taking it out to the bin. With some modifications, it can be useful. The top cover cannot be taken out all the way because there are 3 plastic fins to stop it. I knocked them out with a flat screwdriver. So, the hair catcher is securely screwed into the drain. When I need to clean the hair every day, I just pull the top out and pick the hair up with a tweezer. The top cover is pretty good for plugging the drain for a bath. A slight catch is that the brass stem is a bit taller than the drain depth. So if the cover is not on top, the metal stem is slightly higher than the bathtub service. If kids get crazy in the bath they can get hurt. So I have to leave the cover on top even if it’s very loosely on top.But then, this is way overpriced if I can find a screw that fits and a hair catcher with a big enough hole in the middle. I already have those dome shaped rubbery cover that can plug the drain well. Could have found this item and read the reviews if it is not so unpopular on Amazon.

Saw this on I want that, and thought it was the greatest idea ever, with 3 females with long hair in the house, I wanted to stop cleaning the drain so often…Putting it in the first time it fit the drain like a glove, no chance of stuff going around the outside edge.First time i tried to chop hair, i pulled too hard and the top came off… so after aligning it again and pushing it popped back into place so we went on…Now 3 weeks later I just pulled it out and going back to the old way… a few times I’ve used a pliers to pull hair from the gaps, and big gobs of hair came out… thought it was supposed to be chopping them up, since I do it daily…I had to use the needle nose to actually get it out since the top just spun and didn’t remove it, and once I got it out, just as much hair was wrapped around the bottom as what would be on the normal one…So when it was working water drained slower, and when it wasn’t working it was terrible…I really wanted this to work, I may try some other implementation if I find one, but this one was cheap and didn’t work…

This will not install on two of my tubs. If the stopper is in the down position, the tub still drains. Made with cheap plastic. Poor instructions. Sent back two that I’ve ordered.

The unit installed easily, but the rubber stopper part is not thick enough to create a tight seal. We ended up purchasing a different type at a local store and it went well.

Had one that came with drain assembly that did not “lock”. I replaced it with this lift n lock . it is sturdy, the other one flopped over. It stays up even when the tub spout runs water over it. Just what I wanted

This worked well to replace or old plug that leaked. It seals very good and does catch the hair before going down the drain. The down side is, is catches all the hair…..lol. It does need to be cleaned frequently.
